Bautzen
The thousand-year-old town fabulously presents us its grand panorama with many towers like the Ortenburg Castle and Petridom Cathedral - this rare "Simultankirche", in which both confessions have peacefully celebrated their worships since 1524 - even during the bloody religious wars. Bautzen si the capital of the catholic Sorbs, a Slavic speaking folk in Saxony, which has thoroughly conserved its rich culture with its old wealth of myths and legends (like "Krabat"), its religious tradition (specially around Easter the solemn riding procession ceremonial), its valuably decorated Easter eggs and Easter trees. The Sorbs are in a sense the natives of the landscape between Elbe and Spree. We will visit during a walking tour the Petridom and alternatively the Cathedral Treasurey or the Sorbian Museum.
This trip suits perfectly to Goerlitz.
